A surprising but very pleasing energy on the palate, with a pomelo and crystallized orange finish lingering for a good while. This blushing lovely is a smoking value in Provencal pink. Michele d’Aprix, a UC Davis graduate who studied winemaking with Bordeaux legend Stephane Derenoncourt, is the talent behind Maz Caz. Her 2017 rosé is a Syrah dominant blend, with 20% Grenache and 5% Mourvedre, all vinified in tank.
